A Cork distillery is set to represented at this month's National Ploughing Championships.
Under a new Local Enterprise Office initiative, Rebel City Distillery will be among 31 small businesses included in the Local Enterprise Village stand at the championships from the 20th - 22nd of September.
Rebel City Distillery was set up in 2020 by Robert Barrett and his wife Bhagya and is based in the former Ford factory in the heart of Cork city. The distillery produce Maharani Gin and have recently launched Ireland’s only absinthe. Their Visitor Centre opened in July 2022 and will add a Spirits School later in the year, with a blended whiskey in the second half of 2023.
Speaking ahead of the event, Co-Founder Robert said:
‘We are excited to have the opportunity to exhibit at the National Ploughing Championships, which is a great opportunity to showcase our distillery and our brands – Maharani Gin and Rebel City Distillery Series Absinthe, and we are very grateful for all the support given to us by LEO Cork City.”
