Cork City Council says it has resolved a network fault which affected traffic lights at 76 junctions across the city this morning.
Traffic was severely impacted across the morning as a result of the lights malfunction which was reported at 11am
Engineers and traffic crews responded to the network outage and brought the system back online in a phased manner, prioritising major intersections, and then moving to the smaller ones.
All affected junctions were restored shortly after midday however motorists have been advised to expect delays in certain areas as the backlog of traffic eases
A similar network fault occurred on September 8th and the Council says steps are being taken to minimise the risk of a reoccurrence.
