The N72 Mallow Killarney Road has been reopened following a two vehicle car crash.
The incident occurred on the Roskeen side of Murphy's Amber garage in Gurteenbeha.
One person was taken to hospital by ambulance.
Gardaí say the two vehicles involved were badly damaged.
Local residents have been pushing for the N72 to be upgraded as it has become an accident black spot, with several fatalities in recent years.
