The mother of a young woman with cerebral palsy has challenged the Taoiseach on his legacy, moments after he arrived at the Fianna Fáil think-in in Cork.
Antionette Burke handed her 18-year-old daughter Katie’s medical file to Micheál Martin outside the Rochestown Park Hotel, and asked what can be done for her daughter.
The Cobh woman also said she is trying to raise three-hundred thousand euro to get her daughter surgery in America.
Ms Burke told the Taoiseach surgeons here will not operate on her hip because she is too weak:
"Nobody in this country will do anything for her. She needs help, you're going in there to talk about healthcare, and this is your legacy, 15 years this year Katie will be waiting on surgery."
