More than 50 veterans of the Irish Defence forces are being housed in accommodation provided by the O.N.E. charity.

The charity has also helped more that a thousand veterans through its support services.

As part of their fundraising campaign - Sleeping Flags, it hopes to raise funds in order to continue to provide housing and support to homeless veterans
across the country.

Chief Executive of O.N.E Cormac Kirwan says their ultimate goal is to help the ex-personnel access permanent accommodation, improve their mental health and prevent future homelessness:

"Our services are provided across a number of platforms as such, but probably our main support would be the provision of accommodation to homeless veterans. We have four homes across the country, our flagship home is inside in Dublin [...] We have homes then in Letterkenny, Athlone and our most recent home was opened in Cobh in October 2021".
