Midleton and East Cork Flood Action Group says new weather relief stations are critically needed.
New hubs with generators and industrial pumps could be installed in the town which was devastated by floods brought by Storm Babet almost 2 years ago.
Speaking to RedFM News, Mona Stromsoe of Midleton and East Cork Flood Action Group says a place to help people during the chaos of a severe weather event is essential:
We need them, it's something we were happy to hear about, these are things that we have been pushing for since Storm Babet and time is critical when there's a flood and there's a lot of chaos and people need somewhere to go for help. So we were happy to hear that the minister is looking at this."
