A man who was evicted from his home and had no other option but to live on the street says seeing homelessness figures rise in Cork is heartbreaking.
663 people were accessing emergency accommodation across the county according to the latest figures.
James who was helped out of homelessness through Cork Simon told RedFM News every time he sees another homeless person, he thinks of his own experience:
"Unless you've experienced it first hand I don't think you really understand the situation when you've been out in heat and the cold, in all kinds of weather conditions, it's a difficult situation I see it is stressful out there and every time I see a homeless person out there I go back to when I was like that. And yes we actually have to now have action."
