A man has been seriously injured in an alleged assault on the south side of the city.
Gardaí are appealing for witnesses to the incident on Quaker Road last night.
Gardaí and emergency services were alerted to the alleged assault at 10 o clock last night.
A man in his 40's was taken to Cork University Hospital to be treated for serious injuries.
Quaker Road is currently closed off for a technical examination and Gardaí say investigations are ongoing.
Anyone with any information or who may have video footage is asked to make contact with Gardaí.
