A man accused of murdering his brother and attempting to murder his father was sober and coherent at the time of his arrest.
44 year old John Murphy Jnr of Seaview in Carrigaline is on trial at a sitting of the Central Criminal Court in Cork charged with the murder of his 27 year old brother Shane Murphy and the attempted murder of his 75 year old father John Aloysius “Weeshie” Murphy Senior on the 28th of March 2022.
The court heard that John Murphy Junior was ‘singing in the van’ on the way to the Garda station and engaging in "bizarre behaviour" after his arrest.
The court case is continuing today.
