A man in his 60's has died in a housefire in Cork.
Emergency services were alerted to the incident at around quarter to one this morning in Hollyhill.
A woman was also injured in the incident and is being treated for non life threatening injuries.
Victor Shine from Cork City Fire Brigade says the scene is currently preserved for a technical examination:
"Crews made an entry, found a male on the first floor who was removed from the house and resuscitation began on the male and unfortunately, shortly later, he was pronounced deceased at the scene. The fire was brought under control quickly and contained to a ground floor room. Gardai are currently investigating cause of the fire."
