Gardaí have arrested a man after another man in his 20s was attacked with a suspected machete outside Blarney.
The attack happened at Riverview Estate in Tower at around 1:30pm yesterday.
The victim sustained a serious head wound and was taken to Cork University Hospital.
A man in his early 20s was later arrested in the city and taken to Mayfield Garda Station for questioning.
He has since been released and a file will be prepared for the DPP.
It's the second such attack in Cork in two days after a man was treated for a head wound after he was assaulted with a suspected hatchet in Mayfield on Sunday night.
