A man has been arrested following an assault in Carrigaline yesterday evening.
The victim remains in a critical condition in hospital this morning.
At around quarter to six yesterday evening, a man in his late 20s was found on the road in Glenwood Estate in Carrigaline.
Gardaí confirmed the victim, who is believed to have been stabbed, is in a critical condition at Cork University Hospital.
A man, aged in his late teens, has since been arrested, and is being held at Togher Garda Station.
Gardaí are appealing for witnesses, particularly any road users who may have camera footage (including dash cam) of the incident to come forward.
Anyone who was in the estate or the wider area at between 5 and 5:45 yesterday evening is being urged to get in contact.
