The South Munster Money Advice and Budgeting Service are calling on energy suppliers to reduce their rates now that wholesale prices are coming down.
The service who provide advice to anyone who needs help managing their money say there's been a rise in people needing their services since the eviction ban was lifted on the 31st of March.
MABS say there's also been an increase in people over 65's coming to them for help and are encouraging those who are worried about receiving eviction notices to come to them for free advice.
Speaking on the Neil Prendeville show earlier today, Ursula Collins from MABS says they work with energy providers to find solutions for people in debt:
"What we can do is we can contact your energy provider, we can negotiate with them both around the disconnection if that is imminent and we can make an arrangement that is feasible for you to manage going forward. We would also call on the energy providers to consider why with the costs coming down, the wholesale cost of energy, that it should be passed on to customers as soon as possible."
