The Lord Mayor of the city says locals are still in shock after a shooting in Wilton on Friday morning.
A 42 year old mans condition is no longer life threatening after he was shot in the Wilton Manor Area at around 5am on Friday the 12th of May.
Gardaí are continuing to appeal for witnesses who may have seen a silver saloon car in the Summerstown Drive, Summerstown Road, Wilton Court and Wilton Manor areas between 4:45 and 5.45am on Friday.
It’s understood this car then travelled in the direction of Bishoptown.
Speaking to RedFM News, Lord Mayor of the City and Councillor Deirdre Forde says that people in the area have expressed their fears:
"Well, certainly an incident of this nature, really frightens people, and it makes them wonder how secure they are. I'm very sorry to that this has taken place in our suburbs of our city. We don't want incidents like this and we take very dim view of behaviour like that."
