The Emergency Department at Cork's Mercy University Hospital is currently experiencing very high levels of activity, leading to significant delays for patients awaiting assessment and treatment.
MUH staff are working to ensure all patients receive the best possible care, with priority given to those with the most urgent medical needs.
In light of these pressures, the Mercy University Hospital is appealing to the public to consider all available care options before attending the Emergency Department.
