Locals are describing the loss of over 110 manufacturing jobs in Blarney as 'devastating'.
ILC Dover confirmed it will relocate its operations to facilities in Poland and Mexico.
Work at the plant in Blarney Business Park will be wound-down by the first quarter of next year.
Speaking to RedFM News, Chairperson of the Blarney & District Chamber of Commerce, Marlene Griffen says the repercussions will ripple across the area:
"It's devastating. Blarney's is a very tight knit community. And everybody knows somebody who's working there. There's 120 people., but there're families connected to that. I think particularly like coming up to Christmas - that security isn't there now to enjoy it. It's devastating".
