A library promised for Mahon and Blackrock has suffered another setback.
The Government has confirmed the €2m funding needed isn’t available despite the project getting partial Stage 1 approval in May.
Speaking to RedFM News, library pressure group spokesperson Ian Power says people can’t understand why there still isn’t a library in the area:
"The overwhelming feeling we get on the doors in the community is that we need a library because we need somewhere for young people to study and have a space that they can develop skills and have a peaceful area to study and that sort of thing. We don't understand why we haven't got what we've been promised for 20 years."
