A leading concert promoter says an Events Centre is vital if Cork wants more big gigs.
Aiken Promotions is launching Live at the Marquee tomorrow but says a permanent arena is needed for concerts.
The sod was turned on the 6000 seat Events Centre 8 years ago despite nothing being built.
Speaking to RedFM News, Peter Aiken of Aiken Promotions says Cork's current venues aren't big enough for large-scale events:
"I'm going to use the Events Center when it's buit, if it's ever built. I think it would suit the capacity, whoever had the idea to build the Cork Opera House was visionary at the time, but we need a bigger arena."
