The jury in the trial of Richard Satchwell has been told to carefully consider if what the accused has to say about the moments surrounding the death of Tina Satchwell is true.
58-year-old Richard Satchwell of Grattan Street, Youghal, county Cork has pleaded NOT guilty to the murder of Tina Satchwell at the same address in March 2017.
Mr Justice Paul McDermott began his summary of the facts of the case today on the 20th day of the trial.
The judge said it was obvious there were only two people there during the incident which led to the death of Tina Satchwell, and said only one of them can speak about it.
He said what Mr Satchwell had to say about the moment is of great importance, and while he had given a very extensive account of the events before he said Tina attacked him, he wasn’t able to give more detail of the attack itself.
The judge's charge to the jury continues this afternoon.
