The Irish Home Builders' Association is calling for urgent delivery of infrastructure to unlock housing in the Cork region.
Cork City Council is required to deliver over 2,700 houses, while the county council is expected to build over 3,800 houses per year up until 2034.
Speaking to RedFM News, Joanne Treacy from the Construction Industry Federation says infrastructure needs to be sped up to support housing delivery:
"That level of housing has to be matched with infrastructure delivery, Cork has the demand for housing but without transport and utilities such as water and electricity, the homes risk being delayed and we cannot risk anymore delays in delivery."
