The Irish Cancer Society has renewed it's calls for the abolition or reduction of car parking fees for cancer patients and their families
The car park at Cork University Hospital had the biggest takings at over 2 million euro last year
Suzanne Dowd of the Irish Cancer Society told RedFM News patients are facing an unnecessary financial toll due to hidden costs for essential appointments
"This added burden of expensive hospital charges only heightens stress for cancer patients at an already extremely vulnerable time, and the last thing that someone wants to be thinking about when they're undergoing treatment in their chemo chair, is how much time is left in their car parking, am I about to go into another hour?"
