The Irish Blood Transfusion service are asking the public to donate blood at their clinic in City Hall this week.

The service appealed for donors to come forward earlier this month saying that over 22,000 donations are needed over the next two months.

Supplies of O-negative, A-positive and B-negative are in short supply in the country.

The clinics on Wednesday and Thursday are open from 3:45pm to 7:40pm and the service is offering two hours free parking at the nearby Q-Park for anyone who donates.

Eligibility details and how to book an appointment are available on giveblood.ie or 1800 731 137.
