Ian Bailey says he hasn't been a Garda suspect for Sophie Toscan du Plantier's murder for the past 14 years.
A cold case review into the French woman's death was announced yesterday.
She was beaten to death outside her holiday home near Schull in 1996, however Mr Bailey denies any involvement.
He was convicted of her murder in his absence in Paris, but claims the Gardai don't think he's responsible.
