HSE South West is advising that Cork University Hospital’s Emergency Department remains extremely busy, with long waiting times for some patients.
CUH is the most overcrowded in the country today with 61 patients on trolleys.
People are urged to consider all care options — including their GP, pharmacist, or SouthDoc — before attending the ED, unless urgent or emergency care is needed.
Staff continue to prioritise patients based on clinical need, so those with less serious conditions may face significant delays and should seek alternative care where possible.
