Homelessness has hit another record high in Cork, with 650 adults accessing emergency accommodation last month
193 children in Cork and Kerry are currently growing up without a home.
Nationally 15 thousand 580 people are homeless however this figure does not include those sleeping rough or couch surfing, nor does it include unaccommodated asylum seekers.
Housing Minister James Browne says the figures are upsetting
"The figures have been increasing for some time and that is, I think, for myself is quite upsetting, but not half as upsetting for those people who need that accommodation. It's about delivering supplies, that's the only way we're going to address homelessness"
