High energy prices could be here to stay for a further two years, according to the Minister in charge.
Eamon Ryan has warned a volatile international market means price uncertainty will be a staple of the next 24 months.
The Minister says gas prices in particular are likely to remain high as the EU weans off Russian supply:
That gap is not easy to close even with that new terminal and Germany, which opened last week, that learning closed a small percentage of it. So gas unfortunately is likely to remain expensive and because of that, both gas and electricity likely to remain expensive for the next two years is the best forecast."
