A grieving Cork woman is being refused access to her dead husband's sperm, despite his written consent
Melanie Dineen was referred to the public IVF system while her husband was alive but since his death in March she's been told there is no protocol in place to use the samples of a deceased spouse
Speaking on the Neil Prendeville Show Melanie says she and her husband Dylan had made plans to have a baby and that dream was helping her cope with his loss
"It's just not what I had imagined - we had names picked, we had the room in the house picked, we had all of the tough conversations. At the time it was difficult to go through it, but it's kind of given a lot of clarity on this side of things"
