A GoFundMe campaign for elderly Cork siblings held at knife point yesterday has raised over €13,000.
The incident occurred shortly after 7.30 yesterday morning in Gurranabraher when 79 year old Gerry O'Halloran was threatened at knifepoint by a male intruder.
Gerry's sister, Mary O'Halloran, was also threatened at knife point when she arrived on the scene to call to visit her brother.
In a statement to RedFM news Gardai say the intruder left the scene on foot with a sum of cash.
Both victims were treated at the scene by Emergency Services personnel, their injuries are not described as life threatening.
Anyone with any information is asked to contact Gurranabraher Garda Station on 021 4946200.
The paramedics who treated Gerry and Mary at the scene, Keith Harrington and Sean Healy, set up the GoFundMe to fundraise for them.
