"Gardaí are appealing to the public for information about an incident that happened last Friday morning.

Two men, both wearing face-masks, called to a house at Coolequane in Watergrasshill between half past 9 and 10 o'clock.

The showed the occupant of the house a Garda badge, and then went on to show him several fake 50 Euro notes.

They then asked if they could see any 50 Euro notes he had at the house.

The occupant asked the males to leave his property and they subsequently left on foot.

It's believed these men may have been travelling in a small blue car.

Gardaí are appealing for any witnesses to this incident to come forward to Fermoy or any Garda Station.

Anyone that may have been victim to a similar incident is asked to report it.

They are also interested in talking to any road users who may have been travelling in the Coolequane area last Friday morning between 9:30 and 10,

Or who may have camera footage (including dash-cam).
