Gardaí are investigating an assault on Paul Street in the City centre which happened in the early hours of this morning.
A young man in his late teens was taken to Cork University Hospital for treatment of his injuries.
Gardaí confirmed to RedFM News that a man in his 20's was arrested and taken to Bridewell Garda Station where he is currently being detained.
Investigations are ongoing.
