Gardaí in North Cork have arrested a man in his 50s following a large drugs seizure.
Officers from the Mallow District Drugs Unit arrested the man at Rathduff, on the N20 at around 2 o'clock yesterday .
After stopping and searching the car on the Cork-Mallow Road, they found 1 and a half kilos of suspected cocaine, worth around 100,000 euro.
The man, who is from East Cork, was arrested under drugs trafficking legislation.
He was brought to to Mallow Garda Station for questioning, where he can be detained for up to seven days.
The drugs have been forwarded to the Forensic Science Ireland laboratory in Dublin for analysis.
