Gardaí in Macroom have renewed their appeal to the public for information concerning a fatal road accident in the town yesterday.
In particular, they wish to speak to anyone who may have attended to the elderly woman immediately after the collision.
A pedestrian in her 70s was killed on the Main Street of Macroom at approximately 10-to-1 yesterday lunchtime.
The elderly woman was pronounced dead at the scene following the accident, which involved a truck.
There are no reports of other people being injured.
Garda Forensic Collision Investigators undertook a technical examination of the scene.
The Gardaí are now appealing for any witnesses to come forward, especially anyone who may have attended to the elderly woman straight after the accident.
Any road users who have camera, or dash-cam footage, and were travelling on the Main Street between 12:30pm and 1pm are asked to make this footage available to Gardaí.
