Gardaí in Cork say sextortian rates are on the rise.
Sextortion involves a threat or blackmail of having intimate images or clips shared without consent, often for money.
Speaking to RedFM News, Detective Sergeant Derek Barnett says victims have no idea where to turn when targeted:
"It's happneing a lot more across society, it doesnt matter what age, gender, where your from, it's affecting the person themelves, we are cognisant that people are put in the position where they don't know what to do and they don't know where to turn."
