Gardai are continuing to question a man in relation to the seizure of drugs, ammunition and suspected firearms in North Cork
On Tuesday night Gardai stopped and searched a vehicle in Mallow, they arrested the driver - a man in his 40's - who is still being detained for questioning
Gardai seized three suspected firearms, a quantity of cocaine and ammunition.
Follow up searches were conducted at a house on the outskirts of the city over two days with the Army Explosive Ordnance Disposal unit in attendance
A number of suspected shotgun cartridges, firearms, ammunition, pipe bomb and firearm components have been seized.
The firearms and components are now subject of a forensic and ballistic examination.
