A GoFundMe campaign to help repatriate the body of Bruna Fonseca to her native Brazil has raised over €45,000 since yesterday afternoon.
The family of the 28 year old were aiming to raise €30,000 to bring her body back to her home in Formiga.
The online fundraiser was set up by a member of Bruna's family and had raised almost €13,000 within three hours of being set up.
The body of the 28 year old was discovered at an apartment on Liberty Street in the city at 6:30am on New Years Day.
Emergency services attended and tried to revive her, however she was pronounced dead at the scene.
A vigil to pay tribute to Bruna will be held at The Lough on Sunday morning at 10am- organisers have asked people attending to wear white and to bring candles and white roses.
Meanwhile, a man has appeared in court charged with her murder.
29 year old Miller Pacheco of Room 3, Number 5, Liberty Street, Cork City appeared at a special sitting of Cork District Court on Monday evening.
He was remanded in custody and is due to appear before the court again next Monday.
