Free sun cream at will be available at parks across the city from Monday.
The City Council and the HSE have set up dispensers with SPF 50 Fitzgeralds Park, Meelick Park in Ballyvolane, Clashduv Park in Togher and the Marina Park.
Speaking to RedFM News, City Councillor John Maher says the initiative has been set up to keep people safe in the sun:
"We see the rise of cancer across all communities in Cork. We want to encourage as many people to play in our parks as possible, and we think this will enahance the experience of a family whether you're going for a run."
