Four newly appointed wardens will patrol the city from tomorrow as part of a new initiative.
The City Council part funded initiative follows a proposal by Cork Business Association to promote and enhance the city centre experience.
Speaking to RedFM News, Chief Executive of Cork City Council Valerie O'Sullivan says the wardens will act as visible ambassadors for the city:
"We feel it's a really proactive step into enhancing the city, and it really builds on our longstanding relationship with Cork Business Association, the Gardaí and the wider business community, because we have always worked together to create a more welcoming urban environment and to foster a thriving city centre for everyone."
