Fota Wildlife Park is seeking financial support as it is struggling to cover weekly costs while it remains closed due to an outbreak of bird flu
Management at the park say the temporary closure to the public is having a significant financial impact as it's weekly running costs are €120,000
In a statement they say they expect the costs to rise through the winter period, when heating and specialised nutrition needs increase
They are actively exploring a number of potential support options after the park closed on October 14th and they had to euthanise some of it's geese after 11 confirmed case of bird flu
