The Finance Minister says RTE has more questions to answer and is encouraging the national broadcaster to be as open and transparent as possible.
Minister Michael McGrath says RTE bosses must confirm the design of the arrangement by which Ryan Tubridy was paid and how it was accounted for in RTE’s accounts.
He described the arrangement as a very bad decision and said no one had “shouted stop”.
Speaking to RedFM News, Minister McGrath says there are gaps in the information given so far:
"We just haven't seen RTÉ yet meet the standard of full openness and transparency. And it's hard to believe that they don't have the information. A proper trawl through the records would reveal essentially what happened here. And there seems to be lots of people who bits of information, but nobody able to tell the whole story. So those that have further information, I think are duty bound to come before the relevant committees and tell their story because we have to put this jigsaw together."
