The Finance Minister has confirmed the extension of the electricity support scheme for businesses.
Under the scheme, companies can claim back up to half the increase in energy costs compared to last year above a certain threshold.
Minister Michael McGrath says the scheme will be extended by two months:
"I have introduced a very targeted business Energy Support Scheme, which has received state aid approval, and that is currently due to finish at the end of May. But I do intend to avail of the flexibility in the domestic legislation in Ireland to extend up by a further two months, up to the end of July this year."
