The family of Sophie Toscan du Plantier says a new film about her murder case could interfere with ongoing investigations.

The body of the French film producer was found outside her holiday home near Toormore in West Cork in December 1996.

'Re-Creation', starring Colm Meaney imagines what might have happened if the case had come before an Irish court.

Filmmaker Jim Sheridan is defending his project, despite claims it's based on 'questionable evidence':

"I think it was ethically questionable that OJ Simpson got off because the glove didn't fit, but Ian Bailey has about a thousand times more than he ever had. Anddon't want to be saying all this because I sound like the crazy guy who's questioning everything the poor police are doing and you know, in my mind I was trying to assist"
