An emergency response had to be stood down after a hoax call about an incident off the Old Head of Kinsale over the weekend
A caller to the fire service in Kinsale yesterday claimed a car had gone off a cliff in the area
Fire units were scrambled along with the coastguard, the RNLI, gardai, the national ambulance service and local boats in the area
Following a search it was determined there was no vehicle or person in the water and the call and the emergency response was stood down
