2032 is too late for a flood relief scheme in a town which has multiple factors which cause flooding.

Midleton and East Cork Flood Action Group says people in the town will not recover from another situation like floods brought by Storm Babet in 2023.

Speaking to RedFM News, Alan Mahy from Knockgriffin says the town cannot wait another 7 years for proper flood protection:

"Midleton is notorious for having multiple factors that can cause the flooding. This is not a surprise. 2015 was ten years ago. 2032 is another 7 years away, and that is our best scenario."
