€54 million has been spent on the Cork Bus Connects project before a sod has been turned on the plan
The National Transport Authority has spent 10% of the overall budget since 2021 with the majority of the money going on plans for sustainable transport corridors
Cork Sinn Fein TD Thomas Gould is concerned costs will snowball while the project will move at a snail's pace
Speaking to RedFM News he says BusConnects cannot be allowed to drag on with no results
"We have spent fifty four million since 2021, we haven't seen any planning permission lodged yet. We've seen no improvements to the bus service, we've seen no extra drivers, no extra buses delivered and what we need is a dependable transport service and at this moment in time, there are still major issues in Cork"
