The number of drug offences in the city increased in 2019 while burglary, sexual offences and weapons offences went down.
Figures from the CSO show there were 1,074 drug offences recorded in the City Garda division last year, an increase of 136 on 2018.
Burglary and related offences in the city decreased from 519 in 2018 to 486 last year, while there was one recorded crime of possession of a firearm in the city in 2019 compared to three the year before.
In the Cork West Garda Division there was an increase of eight cases to 349 in the number of drug offences during the same period and a decrease of 51 cases during the same time in the Cork North Division.
Possession of drugs for personal use is the most common drug offence in all Cork divisions across both years.
