Cork woman Máire Ní Mhurchú could spend up to four days in prison before she sees a judge, following her arrest in the West Bank over the weekend.
The 71 year old pensioner from Douglas was volunteering with the International Solidarity Movement, an activist group which helps Palestinian residents in the area.
She was arrested in the southern part of the occupied West Bank and is accused of being in a military zone.
Mariam from ISM says their organisation has had a long standing presence there:
"In the 80s, the Israeli authorities instituted a military area and since then it's trying to push and forcibly displace the residents from the area. So, we're just there, basically, standing in solidarity with the Palestinian community there."
