A delay in reducing VAT for the hospitality sector could see more cafes and restaurants close in the city and county.
That's according to Cork Business Association which is calling on the Government to reintroduce the 9% rate for food businesses in October's budget.
Speaking to Red FM News, Dave O'Brien, President of the CBA says their members are finding it harder to keep trading:
"No longer do you have three nights over a weekend, you're all relying on one night for a weekend so it's been really difficult and you'll see restaurants opening and closing in the city. It's just so difficult to make it profitable with all these costs coming on board."
