Management at Cork University Hospital are asking the public to explore all available options before presenting at the hospitals Emergency Department.
CUH says people may experience long delays at the ED due to the amount of very ill patients requiring admission.
The Hospital is asking people to contact their GP or Southdoc if their needs are not urgent.
People are also being reminded that they can attend The Mercy Urgent Care Centre in Gurranabraher as well as Local Injury Clinics at Bantry and Mallow General Hospitals.
