Cuan Mhuire addiction treatment centre says they are dealing with more and more people who are seeking help for cocaine addiction.
The charity run a number of facilities across the country including a treatment centre at Farnanes in county Cork and a stepdown facility in the city on Western Road.
Management at Cuan Mhuire say operating costs could soon begin to hit their ability to meet demand for treatment and are calling for the HSE to increase funding to avoid them being forced to potentially close a centre.
Around 500 people stay at a Cuan Mhuire centre per night and every centre has a waiting list for treatment.
Speaking to RedFM News, Chairman of the Board of Cuan Mhuire Paul O'Donoghue says their clients are getting younger.
"Going back to the 1960s, 70s and 80s the average age of people coming in was somewhere in their 40s, and it was mainly alcohol addiction.
"Now, you can have very young people coming in, a lot of them under the age of 30, and alcohol and cocaine would be the two main difficulties that are there.
"There are also huge issue arising with gambling.
"We're trying to address those three addictions as best we can, but with the level of funding that we have we're somewhat constrained in our ability to expand our services."
