There are over four and a half thousand refugees living in Cork - according to the latest CSO figures.

As of the 7th August, 4,682 people who fled the war in Ukraine had been issued PPS Numbers across the city and county.

Nationally, 83% of arrivals were women or children.

Within Cork, Midleton is the Local Electoral Area with the most Ukrainian refugees - at 909; followed by Cork City South Central at 787.

Cobh is the Municipal District with the fewest - at 62.

No Electoral Area had more than 1 Ukrainian refugee for every 50 people.

Nationally, women aged 20 and over made up almost half of arrivals, while juveniles accounted for 36%.

Among those who have arrived in Cork, 455 children are enrolled in primary schools, while 222 are attending secondary schools.

Data from various Intreo employment events show that 67% of Ukrainian refugees says their poor English is making it harder to get a job.
